|| Favourite Beauty Discoveries of 2013 ||

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and Santa made all of your wishes come true! I felt truly blessed and spoilt this year by my lovely family, friends and boyfriend.  However, as the end of the year approaches us what a better way to celebrate than to look back on MothLoves favourite seven beauty discoveries of 2013!

Makeup Products:

Although there are many contenders for this, I have chosen two that particularly shone out for me, to be honest I actually couldn’t decide between them.

Brow Zings 1

//Benefit – Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit – £23.50 //

My first one has to be the ‘Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit’ from Benefit, it has helped me go from 1990s line lopsided eyebrows to full shaped Cara Delevingne. But it’s not only for eyebrows, as I have discovered recently, but the powder side of the kit is great use when highlighting and contouring your face. 035 036

//Urban Decay – Naked Eyeshadow Palette – £37.00//

Then of course the second makeup discovery has to be the ‘Naked’ palette by Urban Decay. The palette comes with twelve matt and shimmery colours that are quite neutral but look absolutely stunning once on and easy to blend. It is multifunctional as the colours can be used lightly for a simple day time look as well a smoky night time eye makeup.

Makeup Brush:

 // Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Stippling Brush – Superdrug – £10.99 //

There was only one obvious choice for me and that had to be the real technique stippling brush. This brush is perfect to use to apply liquid or mousse foundations. I just use the stippling brush to swirl and buff my foundation into your skin and voilà I feel like I attain a flawless and air brushed finish. Definitely would say this brush is essential to anyone’s make up bag!

//Urban Decay – All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – £19.50//

The Urban Decay ‘All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray’ has to be one of my favourite finds in 2013. It does exactly what it says without giving you that sticky or tight feeling that you normally get after spraying half a can of hair spray; you don’t feel it at all once you have applied it.

Skincare Product:

// Clinque Anti – Blemish Solutions Spot Treatment Gel – £14.00 //

The one skin care product that I could not live without has to be Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Spot Treatment Gel. This is an incredible fast-drying clear gel that actually works in reducing blemishes. It also helps by smoothing visible redness and irritation almost instantaneously. One of the best things about this gel is the fact that it is invisible under or over makeup, so it can be used during the day to help those pesky blemishes that attempt to ruin your day!

Nail Polish:

// COLLECTION 2000 – Lasting Gel Colour Nail Polish (Vixen Red) Superdrug – £3.19 //

The new Lasting Gel Colour Nail Polish by COLLECTION 2000 is easy to use as it has a wide brush applicator to deliver which helps even myself,  I have never been very good at putting on nail polish seems to always end up everywhere my fingers…(even my legs!), this products help you to achieve perfectly professional looking polish. An added bonus has to be that it is a gel colour which prevents your nail colour from having chips, flakes and fading.

Hair products: 037

// Herbal Essence – Bee Strong Shampoo and Conditioner Superdrug – each £1.86 //

I am used to buying expensive shampoos and conditioner to strengthen my hair but they never seem to be worth the cost! However after trying the Herbal Essence bee strong shampoo and conditioner I have to say it has worked a treat and at minimal cost. It does exactly what it says on the bottle, leaves your hair shiny and conditioned with a yummy honey and apricot scent.

Have you found any beauty gems in 2013 that you could not live without now??

Hope you all have a very happy New Year my beaut’s!

    I also love the Bee Strong shampoo. I couldn’t believe how good it was for it being such a great price.
    Another fave of mines this year is the EOS lipbalm which I blogged about earlier this month. 🙂
    I’ve also been converted to some Soap & Glory goodies which I’m really glad I finally gave a try this year.
    Happy New Year lovely! All the best for 2014!!
