She is known for her impeccable fashion sense and more famously reviving tutu dresses, of course I am speaking about one of my favourite style icons; Carrie Bradshaw. Although over a decade has passed since she graced our screen in the opening sequence of Sex and the City in her famous tutu, fashionistas are finding new and exciting ways to wear tulle.
Ok, I agree that tulle dresses are not exactly a wardrobe stable, but that is the one thing I adore most about them. There flirty and girly vibe make you feel like a marvellous prima ballerina, and tell me who doesn’t want to feel like a ballerina?! So when the lovelies at Jones and Jones sent me this black tutu Darcy dress, I could not wait to style it! Unlike any other tulle skirt I have seen this little number has a beautiful silver and gold sparkle in the skirt, giving it a unique aspect to it. Also, this dress can be quite versatile, as it is perfect for an elegant dinner date with a pair of heels and your favourite clutch or you can dress it down with a leather jacket and a pair of heeled ankle boots.
For this look I wanted to show how just a few simple classic accessories can add finishing touches to such a unique wardrobe piece such as a tulle dress is! Shoe wise I wore a pair of timeless black pointed court heels from Primark. While, to add a little bit of colour to the outfit I wore this Vivienne Westwood classic ‘Monaco’ shine curve top leather cross body bag in a beautiful purple / pink hue. Unfortunately it is no longer available in this shade, however they do have it in coral –click here- and black –click here.
What are your thoughts on my Carrie Bradshaw inspired tutu dress outfit?
