As we begin to feel the chill from the Autumn breeze normally we would all turn to our ever faithful cardigan to keep us warm.

|| Very – Fearne Cotton Printed Kimono – £39.00 // Topshop –  Strappy V-Neck Cami – £16.00 // Topshop – Moto Black Joni Jeans – £36.00 // River Island – White Barely There Heels – £45.00 ||

However, this is not the case anymore…a new lightweight outerwear has stolen its crown…the winter kimono.

This particular winter floral kimono was given to me in a goody bag after the Fearne Cotton A/W14 fashion show. I must admit, I have never been seduced by the kimono trend, even though I know that it was the biggest fashion trend this Summer season. However, something differed about this particular kimono.

You can definitely recognise this kimono as a piece designed by the lovely Fearne Cotton, you can sense that she has given her casual bohemian influence to it. This is evident from the all-over blossoming winter floral print, which vividly contrasts to its harlequin-style check trims. Additionally, Fearne decided to keep to the traditional kimono style, by giving it wide three-quarter sleeves and a dipped hem back.

For this look I wanted to show how any kimono can dress up even the simplest of outfits. So decided to wear it with a pair of black Joni jeans and black strappy v-neck cami both from Topshop. While heels wise I wore a pair of white barely there heels from River Island. However,  I would say that if you are feeling adventurous why not match it with the floral print trousers that are available.

What are your thoughts on the kimono trend?

    Ugh I’m so jealous you have these shoes! They’re so gorgeous, I wanted them for graduation but had no money at the time. I love the whole outfit too, the kimono really brightens up the black on black 🙂
